Building placement is approved (final), which will allow the permitting of the building foundation. The building's exterior design has been approved by the EC Committee and requires approval of the Planning Commission. The following items will return to the Euclid Corridor Committee for approval before being reviewed by the Planning Commission for final approval:

1) Provide landscape plan and plant materials schedule

2) Provide finalized materials selection (building shell and windows system)

3) Provide information for site furnishings (benches, trash recepticles, bike racks)

4) Provide lighting plan with product information

5) Provide signage plan

This revised plan represents a phased future development, which includes a building addition without a specific timeline. The current approval is for the main building only with the understanding that final approval will require the following:

  • Activate greenspace along E 97th Street with amenities and features that can be used publicly
  • Expand sidewalk and walkways around building for improved circulation
  • Consider public art in activated greenspace (with the anticipation that this may be temporary)
  • Study shifting the glazed entryway south to increase presence along Chester Ave. frontage since size/area of patient waiting area has been reduced

There should be a supported effort to study a median extension since this newly developed area will experience a high volume of pedestrian traffic between the Health Education Bldg and the Dental School Bldg on Chester between E 93rd & E 97th.
